ABOUT US
The Dublin Chapter of the Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate GB Inc. have over fifty members who are employed with Local Authorities, Office of Public Works, Health Boards, and with consultancy professionals carrying out site inspections on construction projects and ensuring that standards are being achieved and projects are constructed to regulations and specification.
We are a Chapter of the Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate GB Inc. who have over 1500 members in many countries such as UK, Spain, Hong Kong, Australia. Our Institute has been in existence since 1882 and our former members would have worked on the great cathedrals and houses of parliament in the UK.

ICWCI Members are required to complete 18 CPD Hours per year.
We host monthly CPD's both at TU Dublin and online by TEAMS to faciliate our members outside Dublin. We also have site visits to companies for demonstrations of their products.

Our Chairman
Chairman Liam Murphy MICWCI
Liam has a background in carpentry and holds a Higher Certificate in Site Management from Dublin Institute of Technology, and a Higher Certificate in Health and Safety from University College Dublin.
Liam is currently employed as District Inspector with the Office of Public Works and was previously Estate Manager at Castletown House and Farmleigh Estate for the OPW.
Liam has been involved with the Dublin Chapter since its beginning and has served in several roles on the committee down through the years.

Committee Members


Vice Chairman David Hill
B.Sc AssocSCSI MICWCI. MCIOB
Coming from a carpentry background, David has over thirty years experience and works nationwide managing projects in the very demanding Healthcare Sector. He has been a member at committee level for over five years in all roles.
Secretary Liam Driscoll MICWCI. MCIOB. Dip ABCR
Currently employed by Respond Housing as a Clerk of Works, having previously worked with Dublin City Council and Dunlaoghaire Rathdown Council in the same role. Starting his working life as a bricklayer, Liam has worked in construction for forty eight years and has been part of the Dublin Chapter Committee carrying out the role of Assistant Secretary, Secretary and Chairman.

Assistant Secretary Pierce Dowling
Pierce is employed as a Clerk of Works with the Health Service Executive, having previously worked as a site foreman and supervisor . Pierce is a past student of Construction Site Management at Technology University Dublin
Student Officer Sean Smyth FICWCI.
Sean has been a member of the Dublin Chapter since its early days . Sean is a lecturer in the construction studies at TU Dublin and holds the highest grade in the Institute of Fellowship.
Sean is our link with Technology University Dublin and the students on the Construction Management Course.
